Ericksen allows listeners to savor their adventures by controlling her phrasing and inflection. Her voice is not sympathetic; instead her tone is one of head-shaking disbelief. She seems to be asking why the richest women in the world depleted their fortunes in selfish pursuits rather than pursuing philanthropic endeavors.
