Australian narrator Stig Wemyss portrays a wide range of characters in this collection of three short, suspenseful stories about children surviving unexpected perils. In "A Different Dog," Wemyss voices the increasingly fearful thoughts of a selectively mute boy who is lost in the woods. In "A Different Boy," his voices contrast a young orphan and the gruff, uncaring adults in his life. In "A Different Land," he displays in equal parts the friendliness and coarseness of the rough Australian men in the remote Outback. Wemyss brings enthusiasm to each story, and his Aussie accent adds authenticity to the idioms that may be unfamiliar to American listeners but are easily deciphered in context.
