Bilingual narrator Almarie Guerra delivers this fast-paced thriller set in Los Angeles. The audiobook features Jazz, a teen who has been kicked out of her foster home by her foster mother, Carol. Jazz's biggest worry is that she had to leave Joaquin, a diabetic child, in Carol's care--and Carol is a frighteningly religious woman who refuses to treat Joaquin's diabetes. A secret group offers a solution: All Jazz has to do to save Joaquin is murder a stranger. With a variety of accents, Guerra does an incredible job of moving between voicing Jazz and giving inflections to multiple characters.
