Narrator John Lane has the listener feeling the sultry heat as romance blossoms in New Orleans between Russian mobster Kir Vasilek and reporter Cassie McClintock. Kir needs Cassie's with investigating the murder of one of his soldiers. When Cassie is targeted, Kir's protective instincts kick in, and Lane deepens his voice to express his devotion. Lane's Russian accent is spot-on and a sexy contrast to the Southern accent he uses for Cassie and her aunt. In addition, Lane aptly voices the Scottish lilt and Texas twang of Kir's friends.
