WARLOCK HOLMES 4 The Sign of Nine

by | Read by Scott McCormick and a Full Cast

Fantasy • 10 hrs. • Audio Program • © 2019

Scott McCormick's droll narration captures the tone of the fourth zany adventure of Warlock Holmes. Warlock, the not-so-smart, bumbling, demon-wielding brother of Sherlock and Mycroft, is back at his most deductive, along with the bloodsucking, vampiric Inspector Vladislav Lestrade. McCormick captures Watson's reasoning, no matter how irrational or drug addled. In contrast, Eric Messner uses a high-pitched voice for Holmes, making him sound somewhat juvenile and ineffectual. The nine tales are twisted reimaginings of Conan Doyle's famous detective, though they're saturated with paranormal creatures and magical powers. The full cast uses creative accents for the flowery nineteenth-century dialogue and vocal sound effects. The interconnected short stories are tricked out with otherworldly solutions and wry humor.
