This audiobook explores the victories that women won and the multiple frustrations they confronted at the end of WWI as they tried to influence international peace negotiations and the internal policies of their own countries. Janet Metzger's narration is steady and rhythmic in a way that pulls the listener into the flow of this work. Her performance also is marked by pauses that come even mid-sentence and that may prove distracting to some listeners. Siegel explores the worldwide efforts of women to be heard, sometimes providing more focus on individual countries, including the U.S., Egypt, China, and Japan. This story of a neglected part of history is well told. G.S. © AudioFile 2020, Portland, Maine [Published: MARCH 2020]
