WAR OF THE WORLDS

How is it possible that a science fiction story written more than 120 years ago can still sound so powerful today? H.G. Wells's tale of invaders from outer space is a masterpiece of science fiction made to sound even better by the work of narrator Kevin Theis. His crisp British accent is so perfect you will see the monstrous Martians and their death machines stalking British towns most of us have never heard of. He makes the fear and desperation palpable. The story is told from the perspective of a single man who struggles to survive the invaders. It goes from darkest despair to a shred of hope from an unlikely source.
