Piper Goodeve lends a clear and bright narration to this rom-com with an air of mystery. Who left a baby in the library bathroom and why? Single librarian and new-to-town Molly loves suspenseful literature and is eager to find the answer to the question. Sheriff John Hartwell's by- the-book nature causes him to butt heads with Molly during his investigation, but he's also drawn to her kindness. Goodeve voices Molly energetically, mirroring her curiosity, while John projects an authoritative tone fit for his profession and his role as a single father. The older sergeant, Marguerite, is sarcastic and has a rougher, thinner voice that marks her age. A fast-talking journalist and a socialite with a Southern drawl are also highlights in a skilled performance that brings a community of characters to life.
