Margot Louve is the secret love child of a famous stage actress and a prominent French politician. Longing for her father's love and her mother's attention, she puts her family's deepest secrets in the wrong hands, learning in brutal fashion what can happen when "the cat's out of the bag." Newhouse moves smoothly between English and French, effectively portraying an aging Frenchman, a bohemian actress, and the young and confused Margot.
