CURSED

An ensemble of eight narrators returns listeners to scenes of childhood--and the feeling of awe children experience when listening to a new fairy tale. Twenty authors, including Neil Gaiman and M.R. Carey, contribute to this anthology designed to amuse, instruct, and (yes) terrify listeners. The audiobook offers listeners modern tales told from the perspectives of the cursed. Each narrator lures listeners with the soothing rhythms of a bedtime story, only to surprise them with a sudden bite of malice--just as the plot takes a detour off the highway of happy endings. Only "Hated" by Christopher Fowler veers off track with highly inappropriate choices in narration. CURSED is not appropriate for children, but welcome for children at heart--especially those who occasionally harbor sympathies for the wicked witch.
