WHO IS ALEX TREBEK? A Biography

Lisa Rogak's rather fanzine and fawning celebrity biography profiles the late humanitarian and longtime "Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek. Narrator Eric Pollins's workmanlike performance might have been improved by faster pacing. The precise enunciation of his overused anchorman style may be technically correct, but it lacks the warmth that Trebek exuded. This work covers much of the same territory as Trebek's own memoir, but trite language weakens the effort. Nonetheless, the highlights of Trebek's career both in Canada and the U.S. are efficiently presented. Alternatively, listeners may want to consider Trebek's memoir THE ANSWER IS . . .
