When he encounters Lady Jessica Archer, he decides she would be a suitable wife. Lady Jessica comes from a large family, and listeners are made to feel part of it as they easily distinguish one character from another. When Lady Jessica and Thorne attend a variety of balls, Landor has listeners feeling like they're there. Lady Jessica's delight at realizing she's falling in love with Thorne is palpable. There are a few bumps along the road to their happy ending, of course, but through Landor's lively narration, listeners will enjoy the journey.
