Narrators Carmen Vine and Sean Crisden capture the balance between Julia and Rocco, who fight their attraction to each other in equal ways. Vine immediately hits the listener with Julia's bold sassiness. One hears suggestions of her Dominican background when she addresses her family or her steamy crush, Rocco. Crisden gives Rocco a deep voice and a New York accent, along with a suave tone when he's in the presence of his love interest. However, his voice gets a little quirky and high-pitched when he portrays Julia. The oddity wears off after a while, but the desire for Vine to portray Julia instead of Crisden is distracting. The banter between the two characters offers humor and cultural revelations that draw the listener in. It's positively hot and fun!
