Noah Michael Levine narrates a delightful love story between an aristocrat and a commoner. Nouveau riche mill owner Ethan Brundy knows who he wants to marry the instant he sets eyes on her: Lady Helen Radney. Sadly, the lady is far less enamored with Mr. Brundy, but, nonetheless, she acquiesces. Mr. Brundy is solid and steadfast in his feelings for Lady Helen, and Levine has no difficulty portraying the depth of his ardor. Lady Helen's feelings for her husband slowly shift from disgust and fear to wary respect, and eventually mature into love and esteem. Levine's depiction of that emotional journey is remarkably subtle. The charm of the story easily overcomes the occasional stumble in Levine's accent choices.
