Narrator David Shih expertly handles this unique tale, which is part immigrant story, part coming-of-age story, and part corporate thriller. Immigrant Dae Joon, also known as Shane, adjusts to life in America as a teen, only to find himself returning to Korea as an adult. His return unexpectedly triggers conflicting loyalties. Shih brings authenticity to the Korean-accented English used by several of the main characters, enhancing the listening experience. Shih's performance is light yet powerful as we hear Dae Joon being bullied as a child and feeling conflicted as an adult by ethical dilemmas.
