Narrator Therese Plummer does a fine job keeping this psychological suspense real. Molly Clarke, who is involved in a family tragedy, is in a lot of pain. As her husband and children pull away from her, Plummer captures Molly's self-doubt, hurt, and guilt. During a terrible storm, Molly leaves her car and walks away from it all. Or could her disappearance be foul play? Plummer is terrific at shaping characters. A girl named Alice is central to the book. Plummer's performance reflects Alice's age, immaturity, and caution. She is good with other characters as well. This audiobook is entertaining, though some may find it a little predictable. Plummer is a definite plus.
