Narrator Vikas Adam employs a measured narration to convey the wisdom of this audiobook. A boy leads a stranger to Tetsuya, a local carpenter who the stranger alleges is a gifted former archer. After the stranger challenges Tetsuya to a competition, Tetsuya provides lessons to the boy that cover more than "the way of the bow." In effect, these lessons can be seen as a metaphor for how to live a meaningful life. The aphorisms presented often leave the listener with the feeling that Coelho is striving for, but not quite attaining, profundity. Nonetheless, Adam's narration captures the instructive, meditative intent of the author. In short, a hit and a miss. S.E.G. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine [Published: JANUARY 2021]
