Stefan Rudnicki splendidly narrates this collection by the Russian author Pushkin, who is best known for his sublime poetry. Indeed, in Russia, he is more than a bit of a cult figure. His fiction is not as well known, but this collection of some of his best stories is an excellent introduction. Consisting of selections from his TALES OF BELKIN, his novella THE QUEEN OF SPACES, and other works, this collection gives great insight into humans and Russian society. As in previous productions, Rudnicki is perfect. Pacing, inflection, and enunciation are spotless. His deep, resonant voice is a perfect match of voice and text. It has been years since this reviewer has heard, or read, some of these works, and it's a joy to hear Rudnicki present them so wonderfully. M.T.F.
