If you've ever found yourself wondering when lesbians would get their very own princess story, look no further than this. Narrator Rebecca Mozo shines in this historical fantasy about a Portuguese princess who, in a bid to free herself from a curse that turns food into flowers, ends up freeing another princess (long thought to be dead) from her own magical prison. Mozo's mastery of accents is impeccable, as is the emotional range she brings to a variety of scenes--from murderous and mystical to sensual and religious. Listeners will also appreciate the narrative urgency Mozo maintains throughout this slow-paced plot which, ultimately, delivers a promising fairy-tale ending.
