Caggie is a privileged New York teenager who is the granddaughter of Holden Caulfield. (Yes, THAT Holden Caulfield.) Caggie's got a lot on her plate. Her little sister has died, and in her grief and guilt, she has broken up with her boyfriend. To top it all off, shortly thereafter, she stopped a suicidal girl from jumping off a building, garnering attention she does not want. Narrator Devon Sorvari adopts a tone that reflects Caggie's sarcasm and moodiness, and also provides satirically exaggerated vocalizations of Caggie's superficial classmates. A deeper tone distinguishes the male characters, including Caggie's new love interest, Astor, a troubled young man with a dark backstory. Pensive piano music bookends the production.
