A full cast performs this novel about an all-girls boarding school during the 2017 academic year, before the #MeToo movement. Told from the perspectives of a variety of students and staff, the plot revolves around a twenty-year-old rape allegation for which the male teacher has seemingly suffered no consequences. Each character reveals issues in her own life--for example, eating disorders, peer pressure, sexuality, family expectations, and feminism--and contributes to the narrative on how the case has affected the entire school. The narrators blend well, creating smooth transitions between chapters. Each actor believably delivers her character's personality and emotional state, and clearly signals whether that character is a teenager or an adult.
