MSNBC news anchor Richard Lui is easy on the ears as he narrates this thoughtful overview of why giving to others is good for us. He sounds happy presenting--as if he's discovered a life principle that works for him and that he wants to share. True to form, the audiobook is selfless. It's less about his generosity toward others (in particular, he curtailed his work and career to care for his Alzheimer's-stricken father) and more about the biological and social benefits of helping others. While it's not an exhaustive survey of social science literature, many of the studies he uncovered are surprising and encouraging. In this appealing production, he sounds as likable sharing personal anecdotes and research as he does in his TV job. His voice and personality are pluses in this uplifting audio message.
