Take a journey with narrator Sara Sheckells to an island off Maryland's coast, where the inhabitants are pretending to communicate with Tom, a young fisherman who lost his life at sea. Tom's wife, Piper, has claimed she can see him, and because the town cares for her, they go along with her charade. A reporter gets hold of the story and in the process of meeting her and the town learns more about himself than he bargained for. Sheckells vocalizes the story of love, faith, and dreams, capturing the emotions of each of the main characters with her ability to portray their feelings of despair, compassion, and hope. After hearing this, listeners will wish they could visit Frick Island themselves. B.E.S. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine [Published: NOVEMBER 2021]
