Three dramatic subplots eventually come together in this suspenseful story of drugs, police corruption, and family relationships. Through well-written action scenes, listeners experience the strengths and flaws of the lead characters. McMahon skillfully voices the female characters, including a traumatized little girl. She also effectively differentiates the male characters. Listeners will be drawn into this timely story of the complex nature of police work and the authentic desire of good police officers to serve the public well.
