Keylor Leigh's buoyant narration mirrors Macomber's hopeful Christmas romance set in Wenatchee, Washington. Leigh's warm reading has Macomber's short sentences flowing one into the other in a cozy listen. Billy and Lindy are well differentiated in conversation, and Lindy's nephew, Peter, sports a lisping preschool voice. Macomber's affection for her characters is clearly shared by Leigh in this sympathetic performance. The audiobook begins with a message read by Macomber.
