Navarro's wry tone is perfect for both Alex's relentless enthusiasm and Lauren's sardonic wit. While both Alex and Lauren are upset by the positions that have been thrust upon them, they both try to work together to make the best of a bad situation. Navarro perfectly navigates the path that their wary professionalism takes as it slowly turns to respect, then friendship, and eventually more. Navarro is an excellent guide on that journey.
