WHY FOOD MATTERS

by | Read by Jack de Golia

Contemporary Culture • 5.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2021

Foodies and the culturally curious will be delighted by this exploration of food as a scholarly topic. Jack de Golia is an excellent narrator for this title, which argues that the artistic value of food has yet to be taken seriously. This is a brief audiobook that one can listen to while driving, running, or even making a meal. De Golia's knowledgeable tone even makes the material sound somewhat academic. His delivery style enhances the author's argument that we should appreciate food in the same way that we do music or any other art form. At the same time, de Golia's up-tempo pace adds to the accessibility of the material. This is fun and informative food for thought. M.R. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine [Published: DECEMBER 2021]
