Scholar activists Angela Y. Davis, Gina Dent, Erica Meiners, and Beth Richie present a united and powerful front in their examination of the essential intersectionality of abolitionism, feminism, queer freedom, and other anti-capitalist strands of both theory and practice from the nineteenth century to the current day. Dent narrates their collaborative work in a quiet, measured voice, pacing the clauses of long sentences so that listeners can readily follow the complex ideas they hold. While she brings no voicings to quotes, she presents each with a pause to make them distinct from the authors' text. The arguments against the carceral state as enslaving and against the patriarchy as enslaving women are grounded in accessible discussion.
