THE WISH

Ari Meyers captures the innocent, awkward adolescence of Wilma Sturtz, an eighth-grader who yearns to be popular. From the grating voice of spiteful Nina, to the geeky, nasally voiced boyfriend, Jared, this performance brings the self-consciousness of early adolescence to the fore with painful accuracy. Superbly narrated in the first person, the story transports the listener back to junior high school with all the wishful thinking, personal explorations, and hard lessons that everyone has experienced.
