NEW YORK'S FINEST Stories of the NYPD and the Hero Cops Who Saved the City

by | Read by Michael Daly, P.J. Ochlan

Biography & Memoir • 14.25 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2021

Both author Michael Daly and narrator and P.J. Ochlan give splendid performances of this long and detailed look at how several police officers, detectives, and a nurse helped to lower New York City's crime rate in the 1980s and '90s. The author provides many telling details about the characters--a detective who wears a homburg hat and a nurse who is the great-niece of Josephine Baker, among others. Together, the efforts of these individuals and many others made Times Square a relatively safe place to be. Ochlan has an expressive and steady delivery that is easy to follow. Daly's reading of his preface is well done and sets the tone for the rest of this production. While a long audiobook, this is a fascinating work that those who like true crime will especially enjoy.
