Narrator Griswold Addams masterfully presents this campy farce set in a Christian fraternity house at Vermont's Treemeadows College. Listeners meet two engaging professors, Nicky Abbondanza and Noah Oliver, along with their precocious son, Taavi, who learns from--and teaches--his dads. The professors are directing a slasher film that ends up with more dead bodies than the script calls for. Addams captures the couple's contrasting personalities, loving relationship, and bickering buddies. Also enjoyable are rollicking asides, exceptional wordplay, and detection through old-fashioned eavesdropping. Addams's best creations are adorable 9-year-old Taavi and Detective Jose Manuello, who sputters with rage as Abbondanza outsmarts him. Spot-on social commentary on such topics as prejudice, homophobia, and abuse makes this listen both amusing and worthwhile. S.G.B. © AudioFile 2022, Portland, Maine [Published: JANUARY 2022]
