Narrators Teddy Hamilton and Maxine Mitchell tag team this romantic suspense rife with vocal tension. After surviving a traumatic incident, park ranger Alta Johnson once again finds herself the target of a sinister criminal. When former Marine Cas Mathews enters the scene, Alta will have to decide if she can trust him with her life and her heart. While the story has some narrative issues and problematic content, Hamilton and Mitchell smooth things out with their solid performances. Mitchell, in particular, stands out as her pacing and delivery of Alta's hesitancy and fear drive home the character's emotions. Hamilton's performance is engaging but frequently ends sentences with upspeak, which interrupts the flow of the dialogue.
