Jonathan Reese's reading of this lengthy biography of T.J. Watson, Jr. does nothing to improve this tedious account by the son of the founder of IBM. The material provides an interesting picture of the rise of IBM's founder, from sewing machine salesman to corporate magnate, and T.J. Jr.'s succession to the IBM throne. However, Reese's choppy and lifeless narration exacerbates the problem of content and results in a soporific experience. Since Father Son & Co is written in the first person, the listener expects--perhaps unreasonably--that Reese sound like a crusty, rich, corporate magnate. This audiobook cannot be recommended for other than its name-dropping and voyeurism of the corporate rich and famous. R.B.F. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT 93]
