FLY GIRL A Memoir

Ann Hood (KITCHEN YARNS) gracefully narrates her memoir of the years she spent as a TWA stewardess. Opening with a history of flight attendants, she segues into airline training, travel adventures, and bumps in the air, and finishes with the demise of TWA and some words on its legacy. Hood's smoky mature voice expresses the self-confidence she gained as a result of her aviation experiences. Quite the storyteller, she skillfully delivers the good, the bad, and the funny. Shades of her charming Rhode Island accent come through at times, particularly when she's narrating passages of grief, exhaustion, or disappointment. It disappears completely when she is excited, in love, or dealing with challenges presented by passengers.
