FIFTY-FOUR PIGS Dr. Bannerman Vet, Book 1

Narrator Miles Meili brings to life Dr. Peter Bannerham, veterinarian in a small town on the edge of Lake Winnipeg. Peter's skills as a logical and rational individual make him a natural for the role of amateur sleuth when an explosion in a friend's barn triggers a series of mysterious events. Meili's characterization of Peter is spot-on, highlighting his slightly obsessive personality. Meili also succeeds in portraying Peter's supportive but occasionally frustrated wife, Laura. Furthermore, his accomplished pacing and timing keep the story moving forward even during detailed descriptive passages.
