Narrators John Lane and Kitt Swann combine their talents to bring to life the romance that develops between Danny, the owner of a custom garage, and Callie, a recovering addict who comes to work for him. The couple have a past. Callie is the sister of Danny's close friend. Swann narrates the chapters from Callie's point of view and brings out all of Callie's vulnerabilities. As Callie struggles, Swann's voice trembles. Lane provides a powerful portrayal of Danny, displaying his protectiveness of Callie. Secondary characters have both Southern and Scottish accents, and both narrators handle them well.
