BLOOD TIES

A full cast of narrators takes on the second in Lillegraven's Clara series. Each chapter, representing a different character, is delivered by one of these outstanding narrators. Clara Lofthus, portrayed by Stina Nielsen, has just been appointed Norway's Minister of Justice and has vowed to protect children. Then her twin sons, Andreas and Nikolai, are kidnapped. Listeners hear Michael Crouch, conveying juvenile fear and courage, masterfully voice young Andreas throughout the horrific experience. While this novel can be read as a stand-alone, listeners who do so will need patience as the complex backstories slowly unfold. Having a clear and well-matched voice for each character adds considerably to the drama of the listening experience. In Nordic noir tradition, this is a dark and violent psychological thriller.
