Kevin T. Collins provides an even and engaging performance of this spy thriller. Sam Capra is a single father who maintains a covert identity as a spy. In the opening passages, Sam is directed to follow a trail left behind by Markus, another spy, who defected to Russia and who is now attempting a return to the U.S., possibly to reunite with his daughter. Sam's 13-year-old son becomes aware of clues that suggest his father's mysterious alter ego, a realization that complicates Sam's cover and potentially threatens both their lives. Collins handles the cast well, giving voice to the mix of American, British, and Russian characters. An enjoyable and tense listen. S.P.C. © AudioFile 2023, Portland, Maine [Published: FEBRUARY 2023]
