To that he adds the companion biographical history of DeVoto's talented wife, who championed Julia Child's books, fiercely edited her husband's histories, and shared his enthusiasm for fighting the land grab of 200 million acres led by the demagogue and bigoted Senator Leo McCarran of Nevada.
