THE WILDER WIDOWS

Pamela Dillman’s spirited delivery makes it great fun to join the Wilder widows as they follow their dreams. Listeners will have the sense of eavesdropping on the women—solo and as a group. Each is delightful and distinctly drawn: kind, melodious Silvie; awestruck, naïve Doris; whiskey-voiced, sexy Alice; and regimented, ex-military Marge. When the widows decide they need more spark in their lives, each lists a secret wish and commits to helping the others achieve their desires. Dillman creates a believable atmosphere as they travel the world and discover dormant skills and talents. Most appealing is their good-natured joshing, as delivered by Dillman.
