Mike Cooper's clear British English, deliberate delivery, and overall thoughtful rendition well serve this serious audiobook. He delivers its straightforward yet bleak findings authoritatively. The environmental studies are presented unflinchingly, and the conclusions--we are very late in the climate-change fight--are disturbing. McGuire, a climatologist and geologist, has been a leading voice in warning world leaders that drastic actions on climate are overdue. He is especially good at explaining how we have gotten to where we are and moves through geologic time adeptly. This is an up-to-the-minute scientific report on what the author calls "global heating" and "climate breakdown." He pulls no punches, and this short but blunt presentation may leave some listeners depressed. One hopes that others may want to take action.
