One of the joys of listening to audiobooks is the opportunity to revisit classic works that the listener may not have thought about since high school. Such may be the case with London's novel THE SEA-WOLF. Narrator Noah Michael Levine does an outstanding job capturing the various dialects, intense emotions, and harrowing scenes in this classic novel about a literary critic, Humphrey van Weyden, who is forced into servitude on a seal-hunting schooner. As written by London, Captain Wolf Larsen is intimidating, and Levine manages to evoke his complexity and cruelty throughout this morality tale. The interplay between the cultured van Weyden and the rough yet worldly Wolf, as interpreted by Levine, makes this a captivating listen.
