Bobby Pendragon, along with others, travels in time to First Earth and to Third Earth in his continuing quest to stop the evil Saint Dane. Have they identified the critical event in the history of First Earth? Should they change history or let the past stand unchanged? William Dufris's narration of the latest installment of Bobby's journal vividly portrays the anguish of this 15-year-old lead traveler who fears his own hesitation shows an inability to succeed. Dripping with condescension and contempt, Dufris also gets inside the skin of the smooth and cunning villain.
