As more kids join the project, Sanderlin deftly voices Brewster's alarm and bewilderment at the extent to which he's losing control. Sanderlin delicately balances this reaction with Brewster's growing appreciation for how his new friends fill the lonely spaces left by his emotionally distant family. Sanderlin creates subtle differences in the accents of the large cast of characters, with occasional outbursts of deliberate silliness from characters like cosplayer Godfrey Tarkington.
