A LEOPARD'S KISS

The audio version of this very meta elliptical novella is performed with high theatrical style, featuring specially composed music and a rich interplay of world accents. The actors seem to be enjoying themselves, though the extremely abstract and poetic methods of the piece may leave listeners with question marks over their heads. In Sicily, in a strange atmospheric household, Lampedusa composes his famous novel, THE LEOPARD, which will not be published in his lifetime. From Sicily a young couple travels to Australia to start a hard new life. Their descendants read Lampedusa's novel in their Melbourne convent school, while thinking about romance and whatever teenagers usually think about.
