Someone is dismembering nannies. Chaos erupts in the life of Zoe Hayes when her 6-year-old daughter discovers a severed finger on the sidewalk as she's about to build a snowman. Marguerite Gavin provides a stellar performance, especially as Zoe confronts the shock of multiple murders and her realization that most of her neighborhood friends fit the profile of the killer. Gavin's narration is so slow and heavy that the weight of Zoe's losses feels palpable.
