Narrator Frankie Corzo's clear, nuanced voice allows Enriquez's writing to shine. Juan Peterson--tall, blond, and handsome--is a medium for a secret order called the Cult of the Shadow. In Argentina during the '70s, '80s, and '90s, wealthy cult members carry out horrific deeds behind the veil of the Dirty War. The clear and smooth quality of Corzo's voice adds an unsettling feeling to the horror of the story. When narrating dialogue, Corzo credibly projects the terror, frustration, and fear of different characters, thereby transmitting those feelings to listeners. Corzo smoothly switches between Spanish and English. Her delicate delivery allows listeners to immerse themselves in this dark world. Horror fans will enjoy this immensely. A.M.
