Mark Sanderlin narrates this charming romance set on the Pacific Crest Trail with the perfect mix of emotion and humor. Alexi and Ben set out on the PCT for very different reasons. Alexi's parents have rejected him for being gay, and he is trying to work through his grief. Ben has just finished nursing school and is craving one last adventure before settling into a new career. Meeting on the trail opens them both up in unexpected ways. Sanderlin's narration is so natural and easy. He smoothly captures Ben's distinct laugh, Alexi's nerdy monologues about birds, their silly inside jokes, and the anger and sadness they both often express internally but not to each other.
