Narrator Kyla García does a fine job emulating the sense of motion that the author returns to throughout this brief and engaging collection of essays. García skillfully navigates Glancy's idiosyncratic style--sometimes dramatic monologue, sometimes academic exegesis, sometimes self-revelation--and she captures the often musing tone of her constant crisscrossing of the country. Glancy's memoir of her peripatetic life is packed with experiences that range from the quotidian (difficulties with movers) to the remarkable (making an independent film on a shoestring budget). Professor, poet, playwright, and Native American activist, Diane Glancy is also a Christian. Her stories are worth hearing. She contains multitudes, and the listener is treated to an authentic voice.
