Amid these interplanetary politics, Jade Mahelona, a lieutenant in the Solar Defense Corps, is given a new mission. Oliver's use of accents and the production's special effects aid the listener in distinguishing characters. Oliver presents Jade as a thoughtful, effective leader with just the right streak of humor to get her through each challenge--one of which is Umlac, the villainous cyborg who undermines Jade at every turn.
